Master Composter Program

Interested in learning more about backyard composting AND vermicomposting (composting with worms)? The Master Composter Program is an in-depth program that delves into more detail than our garden workshops do. The program covers the following topics: Composting As A Solution, Soil Organic Matter and Decomposition (the basics), Reducing Home and Yard Wastes, Vermicomposting, Backyard Composting, (including Composter Construction), and Presentation and Community Outreach Planning. Various tours are also offered as part of the program. Traditionally, tours have included the Foothills Regional Landfill (Prince George), Nechako Bottle Depot/Encorp Pacific Return-It Centre, University of Northern B.C. Composting Site, Metro Materials Waste and the Prince George Community Gardens. This program is offered twice yearly.
