National Composting Week

Want to start your own composter? Need tips to get your composter working? Visit REAPS Compost Demonstration Garden any day from May 5th to 10th at 2 p.m. for a Backyard Composting Workshop. Saturday, May 10th Build Your Own Backyard Pallet Composter at 3 p.m. (registration required). All workshops are FREE!

Ongoing Backyard Composting Workshops will be hosted every Wednesday and Saturday in the month of May and June at 2 p.m.

Stop by the Garden during the day to pick up TIPS on various topics: friendly household cleaner, Backyard Composting, natural pest control methods, vermicomposting, recycling, reducing your footprint and more. .

April 22nd is Earth Day! Check out the local media for information on what's happening around town on that day. This is a good time to start recycling at your home or business, and help our Earth. REAPS encourages you to walk, bike or take public transit to work on Earth Day, to help combat climate change. E-mail REAPS for more information about Earth Day.

Do you enjoy watching a good film? The 2nd Annual Traveling World Community Film Festival will be hosted in Prince George from March 28 to April 5, 2008. Award winning documentaries exploring social justice and environmental issues in Canada and abroad, will take you around the world. Join us in an amazing week of films designed to foster a better understanding of our community. Over 20 films will be screened in various venues in downtown Prince George.
